Tropical House Plants
There are more than 250
commonly grown tropical house plants in the foliage industry. Most
homes and offices are poorly suited to the needs of tropical plants.
But there are many varieties of tropical house plants that can
withstand indoor conditions.
You need to choose tropical house
plants with healthy foliage and those that have a young growth. For
success with tropical house plants, make sure the environmental
conditions that your home has, resembles those that the tropical
house plant requires. Tropical house plants thrive when the moisture
level is balanced and in order to raise the humidity for your
tropical house plants, group your tropical house plants close
together.
All tropical house plants are
happier outdoors for the summer as long as the night time lows are
above 50 degrees. Many indoor tropical house
plants are not real happy with big temperature changes although they
will still work at cleaning the air. They thrive
on moisture and because of the steam from showers tropical house
plants will get the necessary humidity. When
temperature gets close to freezing tropical house plants may suffer
damage at night, because the temperature in the rooms may be too
low. If your tropical house plants are in bloom,
cover the blooms while you mist, to protect the petals from rotting.
Most tropical house plants should be re potted every 2-3
years, to freshen and revitalize their soil. In summer tropical
house plants require a high enough level of humidity to survive
under hot conditions.
